Handwoven Beaded Charms: The Art of Orito, Putumayo
Each piece is handmade by Kamëntsá and Inga women artisans from Orito, Putumayo in the Colombian Amazon. With every stitch, they pass down ancestral knowledge, protect cultural identity, and translate their surroundings into color, form, and meaning.
The animals and flowers portrayed are not random — they are symbols in indigenous cosmovision:
The hummingbird, a messenger of joy.
The eagle, a protector and seer.
The parrot and toucan, keepers of the forest’s voice.
The orchid, a delicate expression of beauty and resilience.
Woven entirely by hand, these pieces are crafted in small batches using traditional beadwork techniques. They are not just accessories — they are sacred expressions of resistance, storytelling, and a deep-rooted connection to Pachamama (Mother Earth).
Each charm holds time, emotion, and spirit. Wear one, and carry the Amazon with you.
